GuavaPay Suspends UK Services
On September 19, GuavaPay announced an indefinite suspension of services in the UK, following an FCA ruling.
According to the company, it is “unable to accept new funds into its MyGuava App and MyGuava Business platform with immediate effect until further notice.”
This means:
- UK users cannot deposit or receive funds
- UK users cannot create new cards
- Users can only transfer or withdraw until their balance reaches zero (with some interruptions reported)
- Account and transaction history remain viewable
Why the Halt Happened
GuavaPay cites two main reasons:
- Fraudulent transfers (which it claims are now resolved).
- Growth beyond regulatory thresholds that triggered FCA restrictions.
The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) confirmed the company is barred from onboarding new customers and must address compliance improvements before resuming service.
